Chocolate Chip Cookies with Sea Salt

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter cold
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp table salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Using an electric mixer beat cold butter until smooth using a paddle attachment. Add granulated and brown sugar and beat for 2 minutes, or until light and fully. Scrape down sides of the bowl.
  • Add the room temperature eggs one at a time. Scrape down sides of the bowl. Add vanilla and mix for 30 seconds.
  • Mix in flour, baking soda and baking powder and salt on low speed.
  • Stir in chocolate chips with spatula.
  • Using scooper make 2 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on parchment lined cookie sheet. Place in freezer for 5 minutes.
  • Bake for 12 minutes. The cookies should be starting to look golden brown, the top of the cookie will still be soft.
  • While still hot, top with sea salt. Place cookies on cooling rack.
