Chocolate Chip Cookies with Sea Salt

- 1 cup unsalted butter cold
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 2 large eggs room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp table salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp sea salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Using an electric mixer beat cold butter until smooth using a paddle attachment. Add granulated and brown sugar and beat for 2 minutes, or until light and fully. Scrape down sides of the bowl.
Add the room temperature eggs one at a time. Scrape down sides of the bowl. Add vanilla and mix for 30 seconds.
Mix in flour, baking soda and baking powder and salt on low speed.
Stir in chocolate chips with spatula.
Using scooper make 2 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on parchment lined cookie sheet. Place in freezer for 5 minutes.
Bake for 12 minutes. The cookies should be starting to look golden brown, the top of the cookie will still be soft.
While still hot, top with sea salt. Place cookies on cooling rack.
