She Found Her Main Squeeze Bridal Shower

Invitation

I used this beautiful printable invitation for this shower and have included the free tag printables below. This invitation is clean and simple. I recommend pairing with a yellow envelope. For printing I use Costco’s printing services, if you have a Costco near you, I highly recommend this service. I use the service that is sent out and takes a week to print, the paper quality is professional and it’s affordable. Make sure to plan for the 7 day printing window.

Dessert

The cake at this shower was amazing – simple, beautiful and delicious. It’s made with creamy lemon butter icing and lemon cake. This is perfect for a spring or summer shower. For those bakers out there, this is one I really encourage you to try on your own.

The cake is made from three 6-inch lemon cakes. Each cake is cut in half, then two sets of three are stacked with a cake board in the middle. The entire cake is covered in creamy lemon butter icing. Add real lemons to the center with a toothpick to hold in place. Then add more icing. The icing does not have to look perfectly smooth and it hides any imperfects. Top the cake with real lemons and leaves. Your guests will all be amazed!

We also love to have sugar cookies made to match the theme. For this shower I bagged the cookies and offered as the party favor. We tied the bags with an adorable tag Thanks for dropping by! You are the zest. We have these tags available free to download for your shower, see the link below.

Food & Drinks

We did something unique for the food for this event by offering boxed lunches. This was the first time I had thrown a party with individual boxed lunches and I must say I hope this becomes a trend! The shower was being hosted outside so guests could easily grab their box and find a seat to enjoy. We offered mostly one type, but had options labeled without meat and for kids. It was easy for the guests and made for an incredibly fast clean up. Many catering companies offer boxed lunch options. Or if you are feeling thrifty you can create your own with these boxes. Also we included the Love is Sweet, Pucker Up! tag we added to our boxes as a free printable.

A themed drink for this shower is obviously extremely easy. All you need is a simple glass picture of mixed cocktail (vodka and topo chico works great!) or water with slices of lemons. Slice the lemons horizontally and your beverage station becomes decor for the shower! We also made personalized glass drinkware using a cricket. We’ve included the lemon printable for free!

Decorations

A huge advantage to outdoor events is minimal decorations are needed. I used yellow table covers and burlap runners. I continued the burlap with the She Found Her Main Squeeze banner.

I purchase balloon arches for all of my parties. They instantly bring the decor to the next level and are so easy and cheap. The key is you must own an air pump. I own this one. Lastly, I added a few glass jars with lemons inside. This is so simple and added the perfect touch to carry on the theme.
